Japanese Patent JPS5096305
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
1493590 Photopolymerizable materials HOECHST AG 19 Dec 1974 [21 Dec 1973] 54947/74 Addition to 1379229 Heading G2C [Also in Division C3] A photopolymerizable copying composition comprising a polymerizable compound (e.g. triethylene glycol dimethacrylate, trimethylolethane trimethacrylate and/or the reaction product of hydroxyethyl methacrylate and 2,2,4 trimethylhexamethylene diisocyanate), a photoinitiator (e.g. Michler's ketone and a phenylacridine) and a binder which is a copolymer of (a) an unsaturated acid (e.g. (meth)acrylic, sorbic, crotonic, maleic. or itaconic acid or a half ester of the latter two) (b) an alkyl methacrylate having at least 4 carbon atoms in the alkyl group (e.g. hexyl, ethyl hexyl, decyl or n butyl methacrylate) (c) a monomer whose homopolymer has a glass transition temperature of at least 80‹C (e.g. styrene, acrylonitrile, N vinyl carbazole or p chlorostryene) and optionally (a) a fourth monomer (e.g. ethyl or methyl methacrylate or ethyl acrylate) is applied as a solution in methyl ethyl ketone and/or ethylene glycol monoethyl ether to (a) a substrate which is biaxially stretched polyethylene terephthate laminated to phenoplast-copper foil laminate or a copper circuit board exposed and developed with an aqueous sodium silicate, polyglycol laevulinic acid, strontium hydroxide solution to form a resist or (b) to aluminium and covered with an aqueous polyvinyl alcohol solution to form a planographic printing plate. The composition may also be used to prepare screen printing stencils and colour proofing foils and may include dyes, pigments, colour couplers and indicators. The photo-sensitive layer may be overcoated with a layer of partially saponified polyvinyl alcohol.
