1509390 Laminates SUMITOMO CHEMICAL CO Ltd 29 Aug 1975 [5 Sept 1974] 35831/75 Heading B5N [Also in Division C3] Polyolefins are bonded to metal sheets using as an adhesive a mixture of a polymer of an olefin having in its molecule carbonyl groups and calcium or magnesium chloride. The polymer can be a copolymer of the olefin, e.g. ethylene, with a suitable comonomer, e.g. vinyl acetate, glycidyl methacrylate, or ethyl acrylate, or can be a maleic anhydride-modified polyolefin. The adhesive can be in the form of a sheet or can be used as a solution or a powder.
