Abstract:

Novel haptenes of the formula WHEREIN X is H ANGLE H when Y is O PARALLEL -O-C-R'-COOH in the alpha - or beta -position and R' is selected from the group of p-phenylene and -(CH2)a-and a is a whole number from 1 to 18 with the proviso that a is other than 2 when Y is in the alpha -position and when Y is hydrogen, X is selected from the group consisting of H H ¦ ¦ --(CH2)b -COOH, ----(CH2)b-COOH and =N-O-(CH2)c-COOH, b is a whole number from 1 to 18 and c is a whole number from 1 to 12 useful for the preparation of antigens formed therefrom.
