Japanese Patent JPS5410039
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
In order to prepare the cationic, water-soluble, polymeric reaction products defined in Claim 1, the following procedure is followed: a) firstly, ammonia is reacted with 3 mol of epichlorohydrin per mole of ammonia or a primary amine of the formula RNH2 or ClCH2-CHOH-CH2NH2 with 2 mol of epichlorohydrin per mole of the primary amine to give a polymeric precursor, and b) this precursor is then reacted with a tertiary amine of the formula . These reaction products can be used to increase the strength of paper or board (cardboard). They can also be used in water purification, in the production and finishing of textiles, in papermaking in general and for controlling pests, such as algae, bacteria and fungi.
