Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5411746
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
1389356 Piezoelectric generators ETABS GENOUD & CIE 12 July 1973 [28 July 1972] 33278/73 Heading H2A A piezoelectric lighter has only one operative energy storage spring. In the arrangement shown, pressing a casing part 1 downwards causes ramp sections 2a of a pair of grooves 2 (only one seen in Fig. 2) to release the lug 6 of a hammer 5 from notches 4a in a pair of grooves 4 in a fixed casing part 3, and thereby allows a compressed spring 7 to propel the hammer towards an anvil 9, the lug 6 sliding in contact with the edges 12, 11 of the grooves 2, 4 as in Fig. 3. The spring 7 however is not able to release all its energy in this movement and remains partly compressed in the impact position. When therefore the operator releases part 1, the spring expands further and is able to push the part 1 back to its original position, the friction between the lug 6 and the sloping edges of the grooves assisting in this restoration movement. The grooves in each part are arranged to be mirror images of each other (as in Fig. 5, not shown) so that the lug and hammer twist relative to the spring.
