Kind Code:
Y2
Abstract:
1341169 Water heaters JUNKERS & CO GmbH 17 Feb 1972 [19 Feb 1971] 7341/72 Heading F4A A gas-fired water heater for a central heating system comprises a thermo-electric safety device 28 controlling gas supply to a pilot burner 27 and a main burner 25, the safety device incorporating an electromagnet (not shown) and a thermocouple 30 arranged to be heated by the pilot burner, the electromagnet when energized by current from the thermocouple holding the safety device 28 open to allow gas flow to the burners, and an interrupter 33 both thermostatically controlled and manually operable included in an electrical conductor 31 leading from the thermocouple 30 to the electromagnet. The interrupter 33 is opened to interrupt the thermo-electric current to the electromagnet in response to either a maximum water temperature sensor 34 or a manually operable spring- loaded push button 35. The gas supply to the main burner is regulated by a valve 17 in dependence on a water-deficiency safety device 19, the valve 17 being opened upon activation of a circulated pump 14.
