Abstract:
1390187 Cleansing pads R M BARRON and S GRANT 12 May 1972 [14 May 1971] 15050/71 Heading F [Also in Division B6] Cleaning type. A cleaning sheet with fracturable capsules containing cleaning liquid is inserted into a typewriter in place of a sheet of paper. The capsules are secured to the sheet with a flexible adhesive binder which covers them. In a preferred embodiment the cleaning sheet has a substrate comprising a paper/aluminium foil laminate. The foil prevents the cleaning liquid from contacting the roller plates of the typewriter. The capsules comprise a hardened gelatine/gum arabic mixture with a diameter of 100Á to 1000Á, preferably 600Á. The cleaning liquid can be benzene toluene, xylene, carbon tetrachloride, tetrachloroethylene, methylene or ethylene dichloride, methyl ethyl ketone, white spirit.
