Abstract:
The robust and particularly light wall is designed for the hull of a ship or the wing or fuselage of an aeroplane or airship, for the roofing of a building, for store pits, etc.. This wall is made out of an external layer (22), of an internal layer (20), of a core (24) and of rigid tie beams (28) which are embedded in the core, are reinforced by assemblies of fibres with high tensile strength and are backed up by ties (26). These ties (26) along with the tie beams (28) are located inside the core (24), and are fixed to the external layer (22) and/or to the internal layer (20) and are rigidly fixed to each one of the tie beams (28). The wall can be shaped with individual sheets which are considerably shorter than the ties (28) and which comprise mutually fixed flanges or which are placed end to end, the abutments (10) being covered with metal sheets and made tight. These sheets can comprise the materials utilized for the fixation of the ties (26).
