Abstract:
NEW MATERIAL:A compound of formula I (R<1> is H or lower alkyl group; R<2> is H, 1-10C alkyl, or phenyl group; R<3> is H or methyl group; X is O or S; n is 0, 1 or 2). EXAMPLE:5-(3, 5-Dichlorophenyl) perhydroimidazo [1, 5-c] thiazole -4, 6-dione. USE:Agricultural and horticultural fungicides having powerful fungicidal effects on plant blight, particularly gray mold and sclerotinia rot, and blast of rice plants, with low toxicity. PROCESS:A compound of formula II (R is H or methyl group) is reacted with a compound of formula III, and if necessary, treated with an acid to give a compound of formula A, which is dehydrated and cyclized in the presence of an acid at 80-150 deg.C to form a compound of formula Ia. The compound of formula I (n=o) is oxidized with peracetic acid, etc. to form the compound of formula I: (n is 1 or 2).
