Abstract:
The device comprises a knotter (9), a test device (8) which is arranged between the knotter and a cop (2) and detects the presence of a thread (1), a suction device (14) which picks up a thread end torn off before the knotter (9) and carries it away via the knotter (9), and a thread draw-out element (7) for transfer tailing. The thread (1) coming from the cop (2) is received by a stationary guide (4) and by a thread clip (6) allocated to the thread (1) entering the test device (8). The thread draw-out element (7) which may be passed between the guide (4) and the thread clip (6), transversely to the thread travel, provides the desired transfer tail and simultaneously exerts forces on the thread (1), so that adhered matter and the like on the cop (2) can be detached. If the adhered matter and the like are too thick, the thread (1) breaks and automatic cop exchange can be initiated.
