Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain an Al product having a mirror surface with superior luster and superior ornamental and reflective effects by forming a ternary Zn-Cu-Ni alloy layer, an Ni layer and a Cr layer in order on the surface of an Al blank by electroplating. CONSTITUTION:The surface of an Al (alloy blank is polished and degreased to remove impurities sticking to the surface. This blank surface is electroplated with a ternary Zn-Cu-Ni alloy, neutralized with a dil. sulfuric acid soln. or the like, and electroplated with Ni to form an Ni layer having a mirror surface with superior luster. The surface is activated by immersion in a sodium cyanide soln. or the like and electroplated with Cr to prevent the Ni layer from fading and the mirror surface from being corroded and scratched. Since the resulting product having the mirror surface is lightweight and has superior workability and impact resistance, it is applicable to internal and external parts of a car.
