Abstract:
PURPOSE:To enable to control the flow rate and the temperature of water supplied from a mixing water tap and to change the direction of water supply through manipulation of a single lever, by combining a pair of valve mechanisms having a valve rod respectively on the hot-water side and the cold-water side of the tap with a control shaft having a cams for co-operation with said valve rods. CONSTITUTION:A pair of valve rods 22, 22' are both urged by the force of a spring from the back of respective valve bodies 36, so that they are forced into engagement with cam surfaces 24, 24' of a control shaft 13. When the control shaft 13 is moved upward by a lever 16, valve bodies 36 are retracted by the cam surface 24', so that hot water and cold water are introduced into a mixing chamber 3 from valve ports 37, and after they are mixed sufficiently in the mixing chamber 3, supplied to the outside via a valve port 26' and an opening 30. On the other hand, if the control shaft 13 is moved downward by the lever 16, the valve bodies 36 are retracted in the same way. However, since the valve port 26' is closed by a valve 19, the water passage is changed such that water in the mixing chamber 3 flows from a valve port 26 to a shower head. Further, the temperature of water supplied from the tap can be controlled simply by turning the lever 16 to the right or left.
