PURPOSE: To prevent heat emission at the time of low speed operation of engine and to hinder drop of ignition output at the time of high speed operation, in a full-tra type ignition device using an angle signal generator, by controlling the circuit closing angle for the ignition coil with respect to the number of revolutions of the engine.
CONSTITUTION: A ripple signal generator 6 generates a ripple signal b1 by means of charge and discharge of a capacitor, and the average level rises proportional to the number of revolutions of the engine. A circuit closing angle control signal C appears in the output of a comparator 7, and the time point t6 shifts back, further than the time point t3, as the number of revolutions becomes higher. An AND circuit 2 outputs the logical product signal of constant angle pulse signal a and circuit closing angle control signal C as an ignition signal d. A reference voltage generator 8 senses the current flowing through the ignition coil 4 from the terminal voltage at a resistance 32 in the switching circuit 3 and controls the level of reference voltage b2 so that the current becomes a value required to obtain a certain desired ignition voltage.
