PURPOSE: To make the adjustment of a rod lens easy and to enable mass production, by inserting and fixing an optical cable into the fixing hole of a body, inserting a holding plate fixed with a rod lens into an adjusting hole connected to the fixing hole and adjusting the rod lens.
CONSTITUTION: A position regulating plate 28 is fixed in an adjusting hole 23, and an optical cable 27 is inserted into a fixing hole 22 until the forward end of the cable 27 is brought into contact with the plate 28, whereby the cable is positioned. The cable is fixed by screwing or bonding to a body 21 by means of an optical connector 30. When the rod lens 19 fixed to a lens holding plate 18 is inserted into the recess of the plate 28 fixed to the hole 23, the plate 18 is in contact with the periphery of the hold 23 and is thus positioned in the optical axis direction. The plate 18 is positioned in this state within the plane orthogonal with the optical axis so as to maximize the quantity of the light emitting from an optical fiber 24 through the lens 19 and is fixed to the body 21, whereby the rod lens is adjusted easily.
