PURPOSE: To separate the suspended magnetic powder and granule in waste liquid efficiently by capturing the magnetic powder and graule with the progressive magnetic field generated by rotating permanent magnet groups and collecting the same with a magnetic scraper using an electromagnet for movement.
CONSTITUTION: The raw water fed through an inlet 24 flows into the flow passage 18 between the discs provided with permanent magnet 2 groups which are mounted in plurality in a laminar shape to a rotor 8. The magnetic powder and granule in the raw water is caputured by the progressive magnetic field generated by the rotation of the magnet 2 groups and move along the surface of a partition cylinder 14. Part thereof are attracted into the static region near a magnetic scraper which is partitioned by a base plate. The other part enter the static region while gliding on the surface of the cylinder 14. The magnetic powder and particle entering the static region is catpured by an electromagnet particle entering the static region is captured by an electromagnet for movement and is moved to the outside circumferential side of the cylinder 14 by the repetition of the energizing and deenergizing of the scraper and the electromagnet. These magnetic powder and particle is collected in a collection pipe 34 and is discharged through an outlet 35.
