PURPOSE: To manufacture a stacked form heat exchanger easily, inexpensively and rigidly, by a method wherein a main body of the heat exchanger is produced by extrusion, end plates are fitted to both ends of the main body, and unrequired parts are removed by cutting.
CONSTITUTION: The main body 5 of the heat exchanger produced from a synthetic resin material by extrusion is comprised of the first passages 7 for circulating the first heat-exchanging medium, the second passages 8 for circulating the second heat-exchanging medium, partition walls 6 for partitioning the passages 7, 8 from each other, main-body side walls 9, the first-passage side walls 10 provided on the inside of the walls 9 to constitute side walls for the passages 7, and walls 6a which forms the outside profile of the main body 5 together with the side walls 9. The main body 5 is cut out a predetermined length in the extrusion direction, and the end plates 12, 13 communicated only with the passages 7 and closing the passages 8 are fitted at both end faces of the main body thus cut, thereby completing the passages 7. Then, the side walls 9 are cut away at positions D-D, E-E for opening only into the passages 8 to complete the passages. Accordingly, a crossflow-type stacked form heat exchanger is obtained.
