Title:
ELECTROMAGNETIC FLOWMETER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5838817
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To facilitate the winding and assembling of coils and to make the device inexpensive, by providing the exciting coils having the windings from one turn to several turns, and providing a switching circuit which is driven by a frequency that is a fraction of an integer of a commercial power source frequency between an exciting power source and the exciting coils.

CONSTITUTION: The exciting coils 15a and 15b having the windings of the turn arc arranged around a fluid pipe 17. When a switch 12 is turned ON and OFF by the switching circuit at the frequency that is a fraction of the integer of the commercial power source frequency, a constant current from a constant current source 11 flows through a primary side 14a of a current transformer 14 as a rectangular wave current. The current is largely amplified by the current transfomer 14 and flows into the exciting coils 15a and 15b, and the magnetic field is generated in the fluid pipe 17. When the electromagnetic fluid flows through said magnetic field, a voltage (e) is generated across electrode 18a and 18b, and the flow rate is generated. Since the constitution of the exciting coils are simplified, the winding and the assembling of the coil are simplified. Since commercially available products can be used for the current transformer 14, the present device can be made at low cost.
