Title:
MANUFACTURE OF SILVER-OXIDE BATTERY
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5851470
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To increase the work efficiency and the discharge capacity of a silver-oxide battery by mixing primary silver-oxide particles with both a water-soluble high molecular compound and a binding agent under the existence of water, granulating the mixture so as to obtain granules with grain diameters of within a specified range, and pressing and molding thus obtained granules so as to make a positive electrode.

CONSTITUTION: Primary silver-oxide particles with grain diameters in the range of 0.1∼ 10μm are mixed with both a water-soluble high molecular compound such as carboxyomethylcellulose, and a binding agent such as polytetrafluoroethylene to make a mixture. Next, the mixture is granulated into grains, and the grains are formed and dried so as to make granules with a mean grain diameter of 50∼300μm. Then, thus made granules are pressed and molded into a positive electrode 1. After that, the electrode 1 is inserted into a positive can 2, and a negative agent 6 is placed over the electrode 1, with a separator 3 interposed between the electrode 1 and the agent 6, thereby constituting a silver-oxide battery. By the means mentioned above, the work efficiency can be enhanced by improving the fluidity and the moldability of the positive active material. In addition, the performance of the battery can be increased by increasing the discharge capacity and reducing the internal resistance of the battery.
