PURPOSE: To eliminate the ineffective motion of a photoreceptor or the like and the dirt on the rear face of a transfer paper, by providing a paper inverting and ejecting device which is operated for the last page of an original to be copied when the last page number of the original is odd in the double face copy mode.

CONSTITUTION: A double face copying machine is provided with a paper inverting and ejcting device 47 utilizing a part of an inverting device 36. When the last page number of an original to be copied is odd in the double face copy mode, this paper inverting and ejecting device 47 is operated for the last page to eject the transfer paper, which is inverted by the inverting device, as it is. Thus, the transfer paper is ejected immediately by the paper inverting and ejecting device while utilizing the inverting action due to the inverting device after the copy for the odd last page, and the ineffective motion of a photoreceptor or the like and the dirt on the rear face of the transfer paper are eliminated.
