PURPOSE: To improve an aptitude of a stainless steel wire rod for soldering, by washing the surface of said wire rod directly after Ni-plating of its surface and successive drawing of the wire rod.
CONSTITUTION: The surface of a stainless steel wire rod 1 is Ni-plated by a Ni- plating device, and the wire rod 1 is drawn by a group of drawing dies successively. Then the plated wire rod is introduced into a washing tank 4 containing a washing liquid and is passed through the liquid consisting of organic solvents such as perchloroethylene, trichloroethylene, acetone, and etc., and the residue of lubricant used for the wire drawing, etc. adhered to the plated surface is perfectly washed and removed and then is taken up by a winding drum 5. By above-mentioned treatment, the adhered matters which hinder a soldering are removed, and an aptitude for soldering is extremely improved.
