PURPOSE: To provide a clearly printable recorder by arranging a cap having a pluralty of recesses corresponding to ink discharge ports of a plurality of ink jet heads arrayed parallel on a common substrate and clog cleaning systems for the discharge ports in the recesses.
CONSTITUTION: This relates to an ink jet recorder wherein a pluality of head units 101 comprising a head section 103 having a pluralty of orifices 102 aligned, a drive control section 104 and a wire section 105 are arranged on a common supporting plate 106 in a full line. A cap 133 is provided having a plurality of recesses 206 corresponding to head sections 103 of the head units 101 and nozzles 207 for injecting air of a cleaning liquid and a suction nozzle 208 for recovering it are provided in the recesses.
