NEW MATERIAL:A charge transfer complex of the formula (X1WX4 are H, alkyl, amino, N-substituted amino, nitro, halogen).

EXAMPLE: A charge transfer complex of N,N,N',N'-tetrakis(p-diethylaminophenyl)- p-phenylenediamine with tetracyanoquinodimethane (TCNQ).

USE: Electrically conductive infrared ray absorbent: since it has high stability and high solubility in organic solvents, it is mixed with a polymer solution in an organic solvent, made into a film, thus being uniformly dispersed to the molecular order. Further, the dispersion in a polymer in a trace amount gives antistatic performance.

PREPARATION: The reaction of TCNQ with N,N,N'N'-tetrakis(p-substituted phenyl)-p-phenylenediamine is carried out in an organic solvent such as methanol or ethanol at 35W100°C by heating to give the objective compound.
