Abstract:
PURPOSE:To prepare a catalyst having a catalytic layer free from clogging by immersing a metal net in a slurry of a titania powder and a colloidal silica to prepare a carrier of the plate catalyst for nonselective reductive denitrification. CONSTITUTION:As the nonselective type reductive denitrification catalyst of nitrogen oxides in an exhaust gas from a combustion apparatus, an internal combustion engine or the like, a titania powder and a colloidal silica are kneaded at first to prepare a slurry and a metal net is immersed in said slurry. Then, a coating closing meshes of the metal net is formed and the resulting coated metal net is dried and baked to prepare the TiO2.SiO2 type carrier. Thereafter, oxides of Cu and Mg as well as an Rh compound are supported on said carrier. The resulting catalyst is hard to form a salt due to SO2 and the clogging of a catalytic layer and pressure loss of a passing gas are low.
