Abstract:
PURPOSE:To ensure optimum ignition time control at any time by a method wherein during the time when a power supply decreases at start-up an engine or a revolving rate is low, ignition is controlled by a fixed ignition signal froma rotary sensor instead of a computing ignition signal in a normal operation. CONSTITUTION:A computing device 1 receiving an engine rotation signa I from a rotary sensor 2 and signals from various sensors 3 detecting other parameters relating to an engine operation state. At the device 1, an optimum ignition time is computed in accordance with a fixed program. A computing ignition signal is generated from a computing ignition signal set-up circuit 4 based on the above computed results. Further, a fixed ignition signal generating circuit 5 is incorportated to generate a fixed ignition signal commanding supply and interruption of a current from the output of the rotary sensor 2 to an ignition coil of an ignition device 8. Ignition signals from both generating circuits 4 and 5 are selected by a duplexer 7 and fed to the ignition device 8. For example, in case a rotating speed of an engine is low, a fixed ignition signal is selected and fed into the ignition device 8.
