Abstract:
The mechanism (10) is particularly intended for moving circular saw blades (S) along successive work stations, and a loading/unloading station. It comprises slidable work carriers (21) which are moved in steps through the working track (22) along the stations (14) by an endless chain (42) with widely spaced drivers (45) engaging corresponding stops (46) on the carriers (21). The beginning (24) and the end (25) of the working track are provided with transversely movable carriages to transfer work carriers (21) from and to a carrier return track (i.e. load/unload station) to and from the working track. The carriers are provided with corresponding stops which mutually engage so that the carriers are closely spaced on the return track.
