Abstract:
A demand-responsive hydraulic- fluid pumping apparatus (1) for e.g. use in a vehicle, includes valving means (10, 11) to connect a pair of pumps (3, 4) either in a mutually parallel relationship or so that one pump (4) is by-passed while the other pump (3) alone feeds the load with fluid. The valving means operate in accordance with the output pressure in a conduit (6). The pumps may be of the externally-meshing gear type, Figures 2, 3 and 4 (not shown).
