Abstract:
This crystal resonator (1) comprises: a crystal substrate (10) having a first main surface (10A) and a second main surface (10B) facing the first main surface (10A); a first comb-like electrode (IDT1) provided on the first main surface (10A) of the crystal substrate (10); and a second comb-like electrode (IDT2) provided on the first main surface (10A) of the crystal substrate (10). The first comb-like electrode (IDT1) and the second comb-like electrode (IDT2) respectively have a plurality of electrode fingers (11A) and a plurality of electrode fingers (12A) alternately arranged while separated from each other. The plurality of electrode fingers (11A) of the first comb-like electrode (IDT1) have a first electrode finger (11), and the plurality of electrode fingers (12A) of the second comb-like electrode (IDT2) have a second electrode finger (12) adjacent to the first electrode finger (11). A thickness shear vibration is excited at a section overlapping a gap between the first electrode finger (11) and the second electrode finger (12) according to the potential difference between the first electrode finger (11) and the second electrode finger (12). In the direction in which the first electrode finger (11) and the second electrode finger (12) are arranged, when the width of the first electrode finger (11) is defined as L1, the width of the second electrode finger (12) as L2, and the spacing between the first electrode finger (11) and the second electrode finger (12) as P1, the duty cycle L1+L2/2×P1 on the first main surface (10A) side is 0.15 to 0.33 or 0.62 to 0.82.
