Disclosed is a fuel cell (200) comprising: a film electrode assembly (204) provided with an electrolyte film (201) and an anode catalyst (202), a supply member (240) for supplying an anode fluid to the film electrode assembly (204), and a gas diffusion layer (230) provided between the supply member (240) and the film electrode assembly (204). An anode fluid flow path (241) for supplying the anode fluid towards the film electrode assembly (204) is provided in the supply member (240). Openings on the discharge side for the anode fluid in the anode fluid flow path (241) are provided in contact with the gas diffusion layer (230). The fuel cell (200) has a region (A) for storing the gas pushed by the supply of the anode fluid on the side of the supply member (240) of the gas diffusion layer (230).
