Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a new 1-alkyl-3-(acylamino)--caprolactam as strong increase medicine for learning and memorial power.
CONSTITUTION: The compound of formula I, for example, (S)-3-(4-phenyl butanoylamino)--caprolactam is produced by allowing 3-amino--caprolactam of formula II to react with activity carboxylic acid which is treated with a halogenating agent (e.g. thionyl chloride) or the condensing agent such as dicyclohexylcarbodiimide in the inactive organic solvent of acetonitrile or acetonitrile -H2O mixture at the room temperature for 10-24 hours. In the formula I, R is pyrrolidine-2-on-1-acetyl, P-methoxybenzoyl, N-benzoyloxy carbonyl-(S)- prolyl, etc.; R1 is H, methoxycarbonylmethyl, 2-hydroxyethyl, etc.
