PURPOSE: To obtain a new 1-naphthylalkyl-3-phenylurea derivative useful as a therapeutic agent having blood cholesterol lowering action due to acyl-CoA- cholesterol acyltransferase (ACAT) inhibition for hyperlipemia or atherosclerosis.
CONSTITUTION: A 1-naphthylalkyl-3-phenylurea derivative, e.g. 1-[2-(1-naphthyl) hexyl]-3-(2,6-diisopropylphenyl)urea expressed by formula I (R1 is H or 2-10C alkyl; R2 us 2-10C alkyl; R3 and R4 are 1-5C alkyl, l-5C alkoxy or halogen; R5 to R7 are H, 1-5C alkyl, 1-5C alkoxy or halogen; X is O or S; m is 0-5; n is 0-3). The aforementioned compound is obtained by condensing a naphthylalkylamine derivative expressed by formula II with a phenyl isocyanate derivative or a phenyl isothiocyanate derivative expressed by formula III.
