The present invention provides 15d-PGJ2 (15-deoxy-delta 12,14-prostaglandin J2) of per2 gene for promoting expression of per2 gene based on a new knowledge in which 15d-PGJ2 promotes expression of per2 gene and a method for promoting expression of per2 gene by using 15d-PGJ2. The present invention provides a circadian rhythm-regulating agent and anticancer agent each containing 15d-PGJ2 and a method for regulating the circadian rhythm by using 15d-PGJ2. The present invention further provides 15d-PGJ2 as a marker for detecting abnormality of the circadian rhythm, the cancer onset risk and the stress and a method for detecting abnormality of the circadian rhythm, the cancer onset risk and the stress by using 15d-PGJ2 as a marker.
