Abstract:
Antiinflammatory activity is exhibited by pregnenes having the structural formula wherein R1 is hydrogen, hydroxy, halogen, or acyloxy; R2 and R3 are each hydrogen, R2 and R3 are each methyl, R2 and R3 are each alkylthio, R2 is hydrogen and R3 is alkyl, R2 is hydroxyl and R3 is alkyl, or R2 and R3 taken together are -(CH2)2-, methylene, or oxo; and R4 is hydrogen, fluorine, chlorine or bromine.
