Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain the subject new compounds that have notable affinity to progesterone receptors, have little affinity to mineral corticoids, and are useful as drugs contg. anti-progestin activity having improved selectivity.
CONSTITUTION: The compound of formula I (R1 is OH, SH or the like; R4 is H, or a lower alkyl; R5 is O, NOH or the like; R6 and R7 are both H or one is H and the other is a lower alkyl; the waved line is α- or β-bond), for example, (11β,17 α)-17,23-epoxy-11-[(4-dimethylamino)phenyl]-19,24-dinorchola-4,9,20-trien-30- on, is obtained by reacting a compound of formula II [R5" is a protected O, (H, H) or the like] with R4-CH2-Witting (analog) reagent (optimally, triphenyl phosphorane such as methyltriphenyl phosphonium chloride) or R4-CH2-Petersoin' s reagent (optimally, trimethylsilane reagent such as trimethylsilyl methyl magnesium).
