Abstract:
NEW MATERIAL:The compound of formulaI, its optically active isomers, or their acid addition salts.
USE: A coronary vessel dilating agent, and a drug acting to the central nervous system.
PROCESS: The compound of formulaIcan be prepared by acetylating 2-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-3-hydroxy-5-(2-dimethylaminoethyl)-2,3-dihydro-1,5-benzot hiazepin- 4(5H)-one of formula II with acetic anhydride, glacial acetic acid, acetyl halide, etc. in the absence of solvent or in a solvent such as pyridine, trialkylamin, etc. When the compound of formula II is optically active corresponding to the cis or trans-configuration at the 2 and 3-positions, the resultant compound of formulaIalso has corresponding optical activity.
