Abstract:
The composition is based on 2-cyanoacrylate, and contains metallic salt of Lewis acid, and a compound capable to form clathrates. The composition comprises: (1) metallic salt of Lewis acid containing metal selected from zinc, cadmium, mercury, aluminum, gallium, indium and thallium, and conjugated base comprising oxygene-containing acid (or the metal is linked to conjugated base with oxygen atom); and (2) compound capable of forming clathrates. The amount of metallic salt of Lewis acid is preferably 0.1 ppm (wt.) to 1 wt.% (preferably 1-500 ppm) per wt. of 2-cyanoacrylate. The amount of compound capable of forming clathrates is 10 ppm-10 wt.% (preferably 100 ppm-1 wt.%) per wt. of 2-cyanoacrylate. Independent claims are also included for: (1) adhesive comprising composition; (2) filler comprising composition; and (3) potting compound comprising composition.
