Abstract:
NEW MATERIAL:2-Chloro-5-trichloromethylpyridine.
USE: An intermediate material for medicines, agricultural chemicals, dyes, etc., preferably a raw material of herbicides such as a 4-(5-trifluoromethylpyridyl-2-oxy)- phenoxy-alkanecarboxylic acid compound.
PREPARATION: The desired compound is prepared by chlorinating β-trichloro- methylpyridine in an inert solvent, or by chlorinating β-monochloromethylpyridine, β-dichloromethylpyridine, their salts or their mixture in an inert solvent.
