NEW MATERIAL: A compd. of formula I [where R1 is -A-COOR2 or -B-CONR3R4 (A is an alkylene chain, B is an alkylene chain, R2 is alkyl, aryl, etc., R3 is H, alkyl, aryl, etc., and R4 is H, alkyl, a hetero ring, etc.), and R is substd. alkyl, acyl, cycloalkenyl, etc.].

EXAMPLE: N-[(E)-2-(t-butoxycarbonylmethoxyimino)-2-cyano-acetyl]-glycine ethyl ester.

USE: A pest controlling agent especially useful as a bactericidal and fungicidal agent.

PROCESS: The compd. of formula I is obtd. by allowing 2-cyano-2-oxyimino-acetic ester of formula II (where R5 is alkyl) to react with an amine of the formula, R1-NH2 at -20°C to the reflux temp. in a solvent such as alcohol in the presence of a base such as triethylamine.
