Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a 2-fiber ribbon type 8-fiber drop cable in which the length of an optical fiber cable is made longer than that of a suspension wire by providing slack in the optical fiber cable in order to prevent disconnection of the cable due to the stretch of the suspension wire, etc.
SOLUTION: The 2-fiber ribbon type 8-fiber drop cable is constituted of an optical fiber cable in which two sheets of 2-fiber ribbons are inserted into every two places and the upper and lower sides of the 2-fiber ribbons are protected by tension members and which is covered with sheath material, the suspension wire which hangs the optical fiber cable and a connecting part which connects the optical fiber cable and the suspension wire, wherein the length of the optical fiber cable is made longer than that of the suspension wire by providing slack to the cable and notches are put in four places of the surface of the sheath material in order to easily take out the optical fibers.
