Abstract:
NEW MATERIAL:The compound of formula I (R1 is 1W5C alkyl or allyl; R2 is H or 1W5C alkyl; X is H, 1W5C alkoxy or halogen; n is 0W5).
EXAMPLE: 2-Benzylthio-3-methyl-4(3H)-quinazolinone.
USE: An antistenocardia having calcium antagonistic activity.
PROCESS: The compound of formula I can be prepared by reacting 2-mercapto-3- R1-4(3H)-quinazolinone of formula II with the (substituted) phenylalkyl halide of formula III preferably in the presence of an acid acceptor such as NaOH at -20W+100°C, or by reacting the compound of formula II with the phenylalkyl alcohol of formula IV in the presence of a reaction assistant comprising dimenthylformamide dialkyl acetal, at -20W+150°C.
