Abstract:
NEW MATERIAL:A 2,2-dichloro-3,3-demethyl-cyclopropylmethyl carboxylate derivative expressed by formula I (R1WR4 are H or halogen; R1 with R3, and R2 with R4 forms respectively and independently single bonds, or R1 and R2 together with the adjacent C form vinylidene; R5 is phenyl, acyl, carboxy, lower alkoxycarbonyl or 1-propenyl).
EXAMPLE: 2,2-Dichloro-3,3-dimethyl-cyclopropylmethyl 2-benzoylethylenecarboxylate.
USE: An agricultural germicide particularly effective against blast of rice plants.
PROCESS: A compound expressed by formula III is reacted with a compound expressed by formula II (Hal is halogen) in the presence of an acid binder to afford the aimed compound expressed by formula I .
