NEW MATERIAL:2,2-Dimethylpropanebisoxamide expressed by formula I, a ligand compound expressed by formula II (M is alkali metal), a heterologous metal alternate coordination type infinite-chain polymer complex expressed by formula III and a homogeneous metal coordination type infinite-chain polymer complex expressed by formula IV.

USE: A biological imitative catalyst, antiferromagnetic functional material, etc.

PREPARATION: 2,2-Dimethylpropanediamine is refluxed with ethyl oxamate in a solvent, such as chloroform, to provide the compound expressed by formula I. The compound expressed by formula I is then dissolved in an aqueous solution of an alkali metal hydroxide and an equimolar amount of an aqueous solution of a Cu ion-containing compound (e.g. CuSO4.5H2O) is added thereto. The resultant mixture is stirred at ambient temperature to afford the compound expressed by formula II. An equimolar amount of an aqueous solution of an Mn ion- containing compound (e.g. MnCl2) or Cu ion-containing compound is subsequently added to the aqueous solution of the compound expressed by formula II to provide the compounds expressed by formulas III and IV.
