Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a new crystalline compound extremely low in racemization thereof, easily carrying out peptide cyclization, excellent in storage stability, useful as e.g. a condensation agent for amide linkage formation.

CONSTITUTION: 3-Dimethylphosphinothioyl-2(3H)-oxazolone of formula I. This compound can be obtained by reaction of a compound of formula II with 2(3H)- oxazolone of formula III in an organic solvent such as diethyl ether at room temperature in the presence of a base such as triethylamine.
