Abstract:

To obtain each of the subject compounds, highly useful as a stock for medicines and agrochemicals, in high purity and yield and simply by reacting 2-butene as the starting stock.

This 3-pyrroline derivative, shown by formula I or II [R1 is H, a 1-20C alkyl, fluoro, chloro or the like; (n) is 1 to 6; R2 is OR4 (R4 is a 3-20 alkyl other than t-butyl or benzyl, or aryl other than vinyl) or the like; and R3 is H, methyl or nitro], is obtained by reacting a 2-butene derivative, substituted with chloro, bromo, iodo, methanesulfonyl or the like at the 1- and 4-site, with a compound shown by formula III [R2 is NR5R6 (R5 and R6 are each a 1-20C alkyl or aryl) or the like] or the like. This isoindoline derivative shown by formula IV or the like is obtained by reacting a compound shown by formula V (X and Y are each chloro, bromo or the like) with a compound shown by formula III. The above methods can give the 3-pyrroline derivative and isoindoline derivative in higher purity and yield, and more simply than the conventional method.
