Abstract:

To obtain a compound useful for obtaining 1,1,1-trifluoroacetone and a 1,1,1-trifluoro-3-halogenoacetone as an important unit for the production of a biologically active compound.

This objective compound is 3,3-dioxy-4,4,4-trifluorobutyric acid derivative (except for some of the compounds such as methyl 4,4,4-trifluro-3,3- dimethoxybutyrate, etc.) expressed buy formula I (R1, R2 are each independently a 6-10C alkyl, etc.; R3 is H, a cycolalkyl, etc.; X is H, F, Cl or Br), and e.g. 2-methyl choro-4,4,4-trifluoro-3,3-dimethoxybutane carboxylate is citeed. The compound of the formula I is obtained by reaction compounds expressed by formula II [(n), (o) and (m)are each independently 0, 1, 2; (n)+(m)=2; (p) is 1, 2, 3; (o)+(p)=3) and formula III with a hydroxy compound expressed by R3-OH in the presence of a proton donor.
