Abstract:

NEW MATERIAL: A compd. represented by formula I.

USE: A herbicide.

PREPARATION: 3-alkylthio-4-methylamino-triazin-5-(4H)-one (novel material) represented by formula (R is alkyl) is reacted with methylamine in the presence of an appropriate diluent and lower aliphatic carboxylic acid to obtain the compd. represented by the formula I. The compd. represented by the formula II itself also has herbicydal activity and is formed by reacting a 4-amino compd. represented by formula III with an alkylating agent in a two-phase system at 10-40°C in the presence of an interphase transferring catalyst.
