Abstract:
NEW MATERIAL:Compounds of formula I (R1 is halogen, lower alkyl; R2 is H, halogen, lower alkyl).
USE: Intermediate of dyes and pigments.
PREPARATION: A 4-cyanoaniline of formula II and hydrazine hydrate in an at least equimolar amount are heated to 80W120°C to give the compound of formula I. On the heating, the addition of a mercaptane such as β-mercaptoehtanol or hydrazine hydrochloride shows an effect to accelerate the reaction.
