Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stereo liquid crystal display device which can suppress cross talk without providing a light-shielding part in a pattern retardation film, in which light from a back light can be effectively utilized, and which has low production cost.SOLUTION: A stereo liquid display device is provided with a back light, a first polarizer, a liquid crystal panel capable of regularly emitting left-eye image light and right-eye image light for each horizontal line, and a pattern retardation film having a second polarizer and two kinds of retardation layer patterns corresponding to horizontal lines emitting the left-eye image light and the right-eye image light of the liquid crystal panel, respectively, in this order. In a laminate surface consisting of the back light and the first polarizer, an angle, at which a brightness in a perpendicular direction measured according to JIS C6101-1(1998) is equal to or more than 1/2 of a brightness at the center position of a front direction, is -25° to 25°.
