CONSTITUTION: This mixture comprises two or more compounds of formula I (R1 is a 1-12C alkyl or a 1-7C alkoxyl-substituted 1-12C alkyl; X1 to X4 are each independently H or D, with the proviso that at least one is D; Y1 to Y3 are each independently H or F; Z is F, Cl, cyano, etc.) satisfying (A) mutually different number of D and/or substitution positions in X1 to X4 and (B) mutually the same R1, Y1 to Y3 and Z. Furthermore, the ratio of the number of D in the mixture comprising the two or more compounds is preferably 30-95%, more preferably 40-90% based on the total number of X1 to X4. For example, d4-4- fluoro-1-[trans-4-propylcyclohexyl)ehtyl]benzene of formula II is cited as the mixture of compounds of formula I.
