Abstract:
NEW MATERIAL:The tetrahydro-2H-1,3,5-thiadiazine-2-thione derivative of formula I (R is methyl or ethyl; X is H (when R is ethyl), lower alkyl, lower alkyloxy, lower alkylthio, Br, F, phenoxy, substituted phenoxy, or Xm is methylenedioxy or group of formula II; m is 1W3).
EXAMPLE: 3,5-Dimethyl-4,6-di(p-methoxyphenyl)-tetrahydro-2H-1,3,5--thiadiazine-2- thione.
USE: An antihyperlipemic agent effective to decrease LDL-cholesterol level and increase HDL-cholesterol level. It has low toxicity and high safety.
PREPARATION: The compound of formula I can be prepared by reacting the Schiff base of formula III with carbon disulfide.
