Abstract:

To provide a luminescent organic compound that can be synthesized in a relatively small number of stages, has good solubility with an organic solvent and has high luminescent intensity of blue light, and to provide a method for producing fluorescence using the luminescent organic compound.

There is provided a 5,9b-dihydro-5,9b-benzonaphtho[1,2-b]chalcogenophene derivative expressed by general formula (1). In the formula, X represents Se or S; and R¹ and R² each represent a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group or a substituted aryl group.
